What to Expect at the Box Office
Film producer and business analyst Girish Johar, speaking with Bollywood Hungama, suggested that Stree 2 is poised for an impressive debut. The report also highlighted that the Raj Kumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer could potentially rank among the top 2 or 3 Independence Day releases, alongside the likes of Ek Tha Tiger and Singham Returns. “Both of these films surpassed Rs. 30 crore on opening day, and Stree 2 is expected to follow suit,” Johar stated.
However, the report also included insights from Vishek Chauhan, who noted that Stree 2 might face challenges with cinema capacity. “If the other two films hadn’t released on 15th August, Stree 2 could have opened at over Rs. 40 crore. Now, it’s more likely to start at around Rs. 30 crore,” he observed, adding that “The demand for Stree 2 is comparable to any major release.”
Meanwhile, distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal predicted a slightly lower opening for Stree 2, estimating it to be around Rs. 27-28 crore. As for Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein, he anticipated that Khel Khel Mein would open at around Rs. 3.50-4 crore, while Vedaa could see an opening of approximately Rs. 6-7 crore.
